‘Skyscrapper’ is another entry into a long line of action movies led by current number-one Hollywood action star, Dwayne Johnson.
The movie plot revolved around Will Sawyer (Dwayne Johnson), a war veteran setup by his former colleague to take the fall for setting the world’s tallest building, where he just got employed, on fire. Will must save his family and try to clear his name before the escalating fire and its true masterminds get to them.
The action scenes didn’t take long to start and, even though they were many, didn’t change the fact that this wasn’t an awesome movie. Like its unrealistic plot, the movie is filled with cheap thrills that’ll easily appeal to fans of mindless action flicks. Not to say the movie is terrible; no, it isn’t; it’s totally watchable, just that it’s another entry in a long list of movies that asks the question can Dwayne Johnson really act? That’s if he ever could . 😂
Not to suck all the joy from this movie, I did enjoy one particular sequence in the final act… The one in the room filled with mirrors. I thought it was beautiful, but then I also thought the way Sawyer defeated the villain was silly, so… 😌.
The truth is, you’ll find more regular movie goers appreciating ‘Skyscraper’, so I guess it really is another win for Dwayne Johnson. I wonder how long his luck will continue to shine this way?
If you’ve seen the movie, kindly share your thoughts on it.
