Rinzy Reviews ‘Parasite’ (2019)

Release Date: June 5

Starring: Cho Yeo-Chung, Park So-dam, Choo Woo-shik, et al

In a world where there are stinkingly rich people, so also do those in abject poverty exist. Parasite sheds a light into their story, at least one possible version of it. How desperately everyone wants a life better than the one they already have, and how far they’ll go to get it.

For someone who isn’t a fan of non-English movies, especially those of Asian origin, Parasite is really enough to instill confidence in re-evaluating my stance. Honestly, before the award buzz, I wouldn’t have cared about this movie; but that should tell you something about how good it is… to the point of clinching the ‘Best Picture’ statue for itself. It’s a relatable story, one that’s sure to draw sympathy even from the most casual moviegoer.

Is it worth all the fuss?

YES, it is!
