DC’s Legends of Tomorrow has come a long way this season, especially after a not so wonderful first season.

The penultimate S02 E15 touched on a lot of topics – religion, friendship, trust, etc. – which have been central to the series, further exploring character and plot growth that has been instrumental to this season’s success.

The Legion of Doom roaster saw an expansion in this episode, with Leonard Snart (Captain Cold) returning come back, and Mick Rory (Heat Wave) banding with his best friend in joking ranks with Eobard Thawne, Damien Dahrk, and Malcolm Merlyn. In a series that deals with time-travel no one stays dead for long; Snart’s return wasn’t a shocker, so also Rory’s alliance swap.

Heat Wave and Captain Cold.

Everyone of the villains have had one reason or the other for wanting to rewrite destiny, the original trio being well defined and understandable; Mick claimed to have something he also wanted to change and. I can’t help but think what it is. For Snart, it could be to rewrite his death so that he never becomes a time aberration.

The Legends went on a quest to retrieve the blood of Christ as the only weapon that can destroy the spear, but they lost it. Defeated on both grounds, I wonder how they’ll be prepared to defeat the Legion of Doom, especially as the episode ended with then rewriting destiny.

With only one episode to go, I wonder how the season will end. The season has been extremely entertaining, and I hope they end it right. Something tells me, Mick might die: might be the only logical thing to do since Dominic Purcell and Wentworth Millar might have a career once again in Prison Break.

LoT’s season finale airs next Tuesday on The CW.
